Hand Hygiene

Did You Know?

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) lists hand hygiene as one of the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Good hand hygiene is critical to the health and well being of our society. Americans are becoming more comfortable with the idea of always having a small bottle of hand sanitizer nearby in order to protect themselves from unseen germs, and it's time for conscientious businesses to do the same. Providing hand sanitizer to customers is just good business. Letting them know you care about their health... that's really good business, and using that point of contact to communciate even further with a BrandStand... well that's GREAT BUSINESS!

Why Handwashing Alone Isn't Enough.

The chart at right shows the areas most often missed with simple hand washing. Germs hide under fingernails, under cuticles and in the creases and crevices of our fingers and hands. Hand sanitizers are recommended as a great addition to hand washing or when soap and water is not available. We can't kill all the germs, but the more we kill, the less likely we are of catching or spreading illness.
